Post by atg »

Hello,
Running RHEL8, linux file level restore no agent, credential has ssh access elevate privileges via sudo
but get failed to start agent error when executing a file level restore.
Anyone have any ideas?

Case #06392756
So far, my support person has tried a lot but we have not been able to get over this

After reading the forums my next tries will be
For future readers: installing the openssh-clients package on the linux vm solved the issue.

1) grep over /var/log for 'veeamagent' and see if the agent ever actually loads. If there are no segfaults, doublecheck your mount
2) look at perms for /tmp, make sure /tmp was not mounted with noexec,
3) look at log file here /var/log/VeeamBackup

For anyone that wants to know, the issue was my user account for the FLR is on a nethome which Veeam cannot use after the newest Veeam 12 upgrade. Previously, Veeam could execute FLR's using a nethome. Now it cannot.

This forces me to use a local account on each machine which is the only workaround I have. If anyone wants more details, please let me know.
