Cloud Director 10.5.1 (30 Nov 23) support

Post by Amarokada »

Just posting to see if Veeam (or customers) have tested the current patched v12 release (https://www.veeam.com/kb4489) with the new VCD 10.5.1.

Just looking for continued backup compatibility here, not the v12.1 release that brings full support.

There are many features in 10.5.1 which we've been waiting for, so keen to be able to upgrade asap.

Regards
Rob

The minor releases are usually just bugfixes from VMware and do not introduce new APIs or changes that breaks backup vendors. It is automatically supported with the 10.5 integrations and the current fix for v12.

OK, I see there is a new API version 38.1 to support the new features in this release, but no sign of dropping any older ones that I can see.

As Andreas mentioned, minor versions should not in general affect product compatibility, but we're still planning to re-verify it soon in our tests.

I will let you know, once I have more information regarding the verification outcome.

Thanks!

To all seeking 10.5.1 support,

We highly recommend updating your backup server to the latest product version, 12.1.1.56. By doing so, you will benefit from numerous improvements and bug fixes, including the resolution of various Cloud Director issues. Although these issues are not specific to Cloud Director 10.5.1, it is advisable to upgrade for optimal performance and experience.

Thanks!
