Question configuration backup immutability with Data Domain

Post by nvdwansem »

Hi,

I'm very happy with the retention lock being implemented for the Data Domain, I do however have a question about the immutability for the configuration backup.

The documentation is stating: "By default, object storage repositories keeps the number of restore points that you define in the configuration backup settings. In case, a total number of restore point exceeds the retention policy settings, Veeam Backup & Replication deletes the oldest restore point. If you keep configuration backups on immutable object storage repositories, Veeam Backup & Replication will not delete the older restore points. Instead, it will mark them as immutable and will keep them on object storage repositories until immutability period passes."

As far as I can see this doesn't work for a immutable DD backup repository, is this correct?

If so I would very much like to have that added.

Hi, configuration backups immutability is not currently implemented for DD. We have it on the list - thanks for the feedback.
