B&R migration to new server then conversion of old server to proxy with origional repos

Post by robert rosenberg »

I am in the process of migrating our Veeam server which I am comfortable with the B&R piece. The piece I'm not sure about is the direct attached repo on the current B&R server. I would like to keep the old B&R server as a proxy and keep the current repo's on that proxy. My best guess is
1. Permanently disable Veeam Backup Service
2. Then restore the config backups on the new server
3. Then add the old server as a proxy and remap the backups to the original repos now on the old server.

Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Robert

Yes, that works.
To have clean installation, consider to uninstall Veeam Backup & Replication from your old server before adding it back as a repository/proxy to the new backup server.
