Problem with account privilege escalation?

Hey there, currently I'm implementing Veeam backups for our domino infrastructure. The backupscripts etc. are run by a non root user added to the sudoers file (sudo su is possible without a password, authentication by ssh-key). Does Veeam always elevate privileges or not? I assume that the priveleges are not high enough to pick up the backup files from the dominoserver (domino says backup was successful, Veeam fails and doesn't copy anything from the server). Is there a way to always elevate privileges to root level (instead of automatically)? We don't want to change the read permissions for the files on the dominoserver. Is it even realistic that this is the problem?

Hello Felix,

Could you please clarify what you mean by "backupscripts"? Are these pre and post scripts or are you referring to the backup actions performed by Veeam?
What operating system is running on the servers that you are backing up with Veeam?
Could you provide the general structure of your environment?
What is the order of the backup actions?
