Disk write activity not visible in Resource Monitor

Post by mrholm »

Hi
Not sure about when this started but when using Resource Monitor in Windows to look for activity we have previous seen disk activity and the VBK/VIB file and path. No we only see that there's disk activity and that 'System' is writing.
But we see that when Veeam is writing to the vbm.temp file we see that from VeeamAgent.exe so is thgis due to 'System' is performing the write when saving VBK/VIB files?

Think I found the solution, I had to "Stop monitoring" from Meny > Montor and then "Start Monitoring" then I see the System writing the VBK file

Thanks for this tip. Different scenario - not Veeam (although I do use Veeam) but VMware Workstation deleting snapshots. vmware.exe was showing lots of write activity under Processes with Disk Activity but nothing under Disk Activity. Stop and start the monitor and voila - can see which files are reading and writing.
