Renewing an expired socket license?

So I have a 4-socket license that expired, making it unusable for my newly installed B&R 12. A couple of questions:

1. I'm now on hyper-v not vsphere, is this an issue?
2. I only have 3 sockets now, not 4, so what needs to change?
3. I'm under the impression that Veeam is not selling new socket licenses, is it still possible to renew existing ones, even if expired?

Please note, this forum is run by product management. We cannot comment on current license sale policies.
I suggest to reach out to a local sales representative or your a Veeam reseller who sold you the license.

It may be impossible to get additional sockets with an expired maintenance license. But our sales department or your reseller will be able to clarify it for you.

Okay, I will reach out. But to clarify: I'm not trying to get additional sockets, but drop 1 socket from the license.

Best to discuss with our renewals team. If I remember socket correctly from my days as a customer, some or all socket licenses were sold in 2 socket bundles. So it may not be possible to remove just „1 socket“.
