Multiple Wasabi Buckets?

Post by dhayes16 »

Hello All. We are onboarding a rather large 365 tenant and we want to follow best practices. Now I did see where it is recommended to have separate backup jobs for the different 365 items (exchange, SharePoint, teams, etc each with it's own backup job). However should we also have separate buckets for each item as well? For instance a bucket for exchange, one for SharePoint, etc.

Is this recommended at all and would there be a benefit? Or would it complicate things?

Thanks very much

Hi Dave,

Unless there's a business requirement for separate buckets per workload, purely from the backup perspective, it doesn't matter if you use a single bucket for all the organization's backups or different ones.
Our Best Practice guide provides the following recommendations: https://bp.veeam.com/vb365/guide/buildc ... -practices

Thanks!

Just a thought, but does having separate buckets help if you need to move any of your backup data elsewhere? So, maybe splitting your Server Backups and your M365 into seprate buckets may help in this regard?

Hi Stephen

Today, migrating data between object storage repositories is not supported.
This question can only be answered when we bring official support for this scenario.

Best,
