Restore from SharePoint 2023 Backup keeps failing after some time

Post by StephanG »

Hi everyone,

already opened a case about this. #07139036

I have the issue that i need to restore "old critical" files from my SharePoint Backup (8TB SQL Server backup and 290GB Database sizes)
The direct way already does not work as Veeam cannot build the SharePoint Farm - so i go -> Guest Files -> Application Items. Works.

But after maybe 6GB it fails with: Invalid Object name "AllUserData"
Also it is slow as hell ;) but this might be because of the setup

Anyone knows how to speed it up? Can i restore the database to a running SQL server and restore from there with Veeam?
Although all servers & jumphosts are connected with 10Gbit i get something around 1MB/s max

BR
Stephan

What also would help - "skip files that are already there". So that you do not also start from the beginning every time.

Hi Stephan

I suggest to keep working with your support engineer. You can always escalate the case with our Talk to a manager option: https://www.veeam.com/kb2320

You can enable extended logging before you start a restore:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
The SharePoint explorer logs you have asked for are stored in this location: %ProgramData%\Veeam\Backup\SharePointExplorer\Logs

But to have logs for all affected components, I suggest you generate a complete log bundle. Which is currently missing in your case: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120

Best,
