Best practice detach multiple VBR servers from the domain

Post by OMW72 »

Hi all,
we as company are planning to detache several VBR server from the domain,
I´m wondering if there is a best practice avialble for this procedure.
What is to observe in terms of the users accounts? A lot of them are domain users and needs to be changed afterwards in my opionion.
Each input is welcome.

Regards,
Oliver

You can do this in steps. Reconnect your systems using a local service account rather than a domain account. You can do this one system at a time and verify if its working.
Once you do that and it works, remove those systems from the domain. Shouldn't be a problem, it should still work fine.

Removing the systems from the domain is generally as straight forward as you think. Provided you can keep accessing the systems you need (vCenter, proxies, repositories) etc with a local account, you should be fine.
