[Feature Request] Enterprise Manager Cloud Director SQL Log Visibility

Hi,

I would like to raise a feature request for Veeam Enterprise Manager. Here is my associated support case for reference: #07148387

We are using Enterprise Manager with the Cloud Director plug-in to allow the self-service capability to manage backup and restore tasks. We have some Cloud Director tenants that are configured with application aware processing for SQL databases where transaction logs are being backed up. Although the separate associated SQL Server Transaction Log Backup is running as it should, it is not visible to the tenant via the Cloud Director plug-in view in the Cloud Director portal.

This sometimes causes confusion - if a SQL Server Transaction Log Backup Job fails it shows on the Dashboard tab as an error within the "Last 24 hours" tile. If this is the only failure for example, clicking on numbered link to the right opens the Jobs tab but shows no jobs within the list view.

Is it possible to give the tenant visibility of the SQL Server Transaction Log Backup Job within the Cloud Director view in a future release?

I'd appreciate it if you could share a screenshot. I'm not sure that I clearly understand what exactly would you like to see and where.

Hi PetrM,

I have attached a few screenshots to show the issue.

There are 3 jobs configured within Enterprise Manager via the Cloud Director plugin.


One of the jobs (Database backup) is configured with application aware processing for SQL (transaction logs every 20 minutes) which creates a job in the VBR console - "<Customer Name>_Database backup SQL Server Transaction Log Backup"


This job is not visible from the Cloud Director view and if it fails, it causes an error to show on the main dashboard.


Clicking the link for the error opens a page which shows an empty list

It looks weird that there is an error displayed on the dashboard but the job itself is not available in the corresponding view. Could you please contact our support team and share a case ID over here? It seems we're discussing a technical issue and not the feature request.

I just heard back from my colleagues from QA that we'll not show errors related to log jobs on the dashboard. The issue is supposed to be fixed in the next patch.

If you're talking about log backup job: no, it will not show these jobs. But your feature request is noted.
