Dell EMC ML3 Tape Library and Veeam

Post by TheWanKing »

Hi,

I can't find a HCL but does anyone know if Veeam supports the Dell EMC ML3 Tape Library (with a LTO8 drive).

We currently use Dell PowerVault TL2000 without any issues. (LTo4 and Lto5)

Thanks

Hello TheWanKing.

Yes it should work (since it's LTO compatible library). Cheers!

Hello!
We also use a dell ml3 (with lto8 drives).
We have also had several tickets with veeam and dell regarding this tape library.
From dell support we got the info to use the latest ibm drivers (ibm totalstorage 3573)
because the tape lib is an ibm oem library.
We use fc, not iscsi for the connection.
On the tape server (windows) we see the changer as "IBM TotalStorage 3573 Tape Library"
in the device manager and the tape drives as "IBM Ultrium 8 HH 3580 Tape Drive".
Do you already see the changer and the drives on the windows tape server?
Regards!
