Backup stuck with status Stopping

I've followed the kb to fix this issue and it doesn't resolve my issue. The backup is still stuck in the Stopping state. The error message I get if I try to stop it again is, Failed to Stop policy - Task with id not found. I'm stuck in support limbo, got the first support email, uploaded the logs then nothing. I have been really dissatisfied with Veeam AHV support since we switched over earlier this year.

I also have this problem - it seems to have happened possibly after the Linux backup proxy VM in Nutanix rebooted during a job. Does anyone have a fix?

actually after I posted this I think I fixed it - I had to force a restart from the Linux proxy web console - then the Veeam console showed it
