We have a use case where workstations become unused due to employee turnover. Until a new employee is hired the workstation is turned off, or perhaps reimaged. We do not wish to have error reports from Veeam stating that backups have failed. What we would like to find is a way to pause backups until they are needed again. Is there such a method in Veeam?
We do not wish to lose previous backups as they contain work the previous user created. This works should be shared with the new incoming employee. If backups can't be paused, what happens if I remove the workstation from the Microsoft protection group, and when it is added back in at a future date? Are previous backups inaccessible? I realize this is more of a training issue on my part.
Thank you all.

Re: Is there a way to pause backups
We use OUs in Agent protection groups. When a machine is no longer required for the time being, we move it to a non-backed up OU. We then move it back when it needs enabled as part of the onboarding process.
Backups created for computers that were included in the removed protection group remain intact in the backup location.
