Veeam B&R backup jobs will fail if you have Dell Unity systems as storage that are hardened by disabling of TLS 1.0/1.1. It seems that the software uses the outdated version of Dell uemcli (version 3) who doesn't support TLS 1.2. I have solved it by installing manually the newer version of Dell uemcli (version 5) and modifying the registry to point to the location of the newer version of the uemcli. But now it seems that the upgrade of Veeam B&R from 12.0 to 12.1 has reset the registry value to default value. So I have to adjust the registry again to fix it. I am wondering if Veeam should use a newer version of Dell uemcli in the future upgrades. If it is not possible because the downward compatibility with old Dell Unity systems: can the upgrade procedure respect the modified registry setting? The registry setting stays on: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication\VNXeUemcliPath.
