in Exchange Online, each mailbox has a Recoverable Items area. This area is divided into several parts. The DiscoveryHolds area contains ‘hard’ deleted items that are retained by an eDiscovery hold or a retention policy. This subfolder is not visible to end users. So, emails that have been permanently deleted by the user but need to be retained for a certain period due to a retention policy set by the admin.

I am looking for documentation and would like to know if this DiscoveryHolds area can be backed up by Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. If Veeam cannot back up this area, what options do I have as an admin with Veeam?
