Upgrade VBR 9 to 12
My question is.
I have a Veeam 9 perpetual license with active support.
Can I update to version 12? Or I have to pay for a new license.
I know that to go from version 9 to 12 I must first update to version 10.

Re: Upgrade VBR 9 to 12
Hello,
As mentioned in our release notes (page 36), if you are upgrading from a version earlier than 10a (build 10.0.1.4854), please contact Veeam Technical Support. Regarding the license, I believe you simply need to open a separate case of the licensing type with our licensing department.
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Technically I understand that the same license file cannot be used. But the query may be silly, but having Veeam version 9 and with active support, can I open a case requesting the license file for Version 12 at no cost?

: @SerSunal please review Veeam licensing policy at link - https://www.veeam.com/legal/licensing-policy.html sections 1.8. It also has a renewals email address and form you can fill out

@SerSunal,
Sorry to my colleagues for a contradiction, but you should already have the "new" license in your MyVeeam.com portal (https://my.veeam.com). Check under the Licenses section and you can click on a given license (Get License key) and it will give you the option for which version:

If you do not see the option for previous versions, then indeed please open a Support Case with a Licensing Type and allow Veeam Licensing Support to review the situation.

Thanks for sending the link. In one of the points in 1.8 it says that the update could have a cost. Would you know what cost you are referring to? I have made several upgrades and have never been asked for an additional cost.

@SerSunal as @david.domask mentioned above. Please check your dashboard for available licenses. For any sales related information on cost. You will have to reach out to your Veeam sales team

If you have always payed the yearly renewals, you already have a license for the latest version.
Just as David said, look in the MyVeeam portal.
