Migrating the entire OnPremise backup repo to Wasabi cloud ?

Post by albertwt »

Hi People,

I wanted to perform the migration of my OnPremise M365 backup repo content of approximately ~7.8 TB to Cloud Storage like Wasabi.

However, I cannot find it under this article: https://docs.wasabi.com/docs/how-do-i-u ... ith-wasabi

Is there any better way to migrate rather than starting the whole complete M365 tenant full backup?

Thanks.

Hi Albert

May I ask on what type of repository your "OnPremise M365 backup repo" is based on?
- JET-based backup repository or object storage?

VB365 today provides the following supported migration paths:
- jet db to jet db
- jet db to object storage

Please note, these migrations will require to disable backup jobs targeted to those repositories.

We are working on a new migration method for jet db to object storage, which will allow to run backup jobs while doing the migration.
A supported method for object storage to object storage will be released in a later version.

Best,

Fabian,

Thank you, since I'm using JetDB OnPremise, I'll have to manually migrate JetDB as you suggested.

My VBO server is still on-premise and I would like to know if the speed of starting the full/initial backup of the entire M365 tenant to the Object Storage can or should be throttled to prevent WAN Link saturations.
