Error relating to lack of Exchange Admin rights when restoring via console

I have this wiered issue; we have Exchage Admin group membership via groups; so to be an admin you go to PIM and activate the groupmembership to become an exchange admin; however; when I try and do the restore via the console and use device code flow; I get this error saying account does not have exchange admin rights; although I can test the account and indeed an exchange admin. We have another platform where the PIM access is direct; ie we choose Exchange Administrator and the console works fine for that platform.

I talk to the Exchange team and they say I have the admin rights; on the new platform even they have to use the groups to activate exchange admin via pim

Hi Rajeev,
VBO365 does not supports role assignment via membership to groups with the current release.
Mind that the group based role don't work, you will have to directly assign the admin role to the account.
