Hello,
according to the 12.2 whats new document tape hardware compression is on per default now.
Previously it was recommended to turn this off for already compressed backup files. What is the new recommendation if we only back up image level backups?

Re: 12.2 tape HW compression
Hi, Markus. If I'm remembering correctly, @Dima P. told me it is more for "other" backup types. And that it does not impact compressed image-level ones positively or negatively, which is why it was safe to make it the new default.

Re: 12.2 tape HW compression
Correct. It takes no effect on already compressed data from both space saving and performance perspective however helps with other uncompressed data which is included to the same job (for instance NAS backups). Thanks!
