Separate user backups in S3 storage
I want to set up backup for a group of workstations, where each agent will back up to S3 storage. Can I have them all in one bucket with user separation even if all the agents use the same S3 credentials? I have read something about IAM policies but this won't be on AWS but on general on-prem S3 storage. It would be preferable if each user could do his own restores.

Re: Separate user backups in S3 storage
For Direct to S3 bucket backups, separation is only possible with IAM policies or with individual buckets per agent - there are no other options. However, all decent on-prem S3 storage also supports IAM, so do check with your vendor on this.
Now, if you register your S3 bucket as a VBR repository and specify that as your target, then VBR can manage separation for you. However, this obviously requires that agents are able to connect to your backup server during backups and restores.
