We currently take backup of some large sql (8TB) servers and is looking to convert them to virtual. The initial plan is to use Instant Recovery via Veeam but the restore speed is not that good.
What is the best practice to do this?
The backupdata is located in a HPE MSA with 10G and the proxy have network access to both MSA and vmware vmkernel.

Re: Restore from agent to vmware
Hi Kristian,
Just a quick question, did it use vMotion or Veeam Quick Migration? Based on the method used for migration, the potential bottlenecks gets a bit different.
If it's vMotion, try testing with forcing Veeam Component usage (step 2) and see if the performance is more suitable. Veeam Component usage will use your usual proxy servers used for backup/restore to perform the migration, so ensure that you have a suitable proxy able to access the target host for quick migration.
If it's using Veeam's Quick Migration, can you confirm which transport mode is being used? It should tell in the UI when checking the Quick Migration session.
