Change VRO service account

Post by jiesolbrekk »

This may be a simple one, but I couldn't find an answer in a quick google search. During an upgrade from 6.0 to 7.0 to 7.1 I noticed the service account is a domain admin account. What do I need to do to change the services account? Just change it in the services control panel?

Thanks,
Jason

Re: Change VRO service account

Hi Jason,

Yes, you would need to change the account in the services console for all the Veeam services that use it - note there are 14 services across Veeam Backup, Veeam ONE and VRO itself that use the service account.

The service account must be in the local Administrators group for the server. It can be a domain account but of course doesn't need to be a domain admin.

And if you chose the option "Use Windows authentication credentials of the service account" during setup, then you must ensure that the new account has access to all three databases (VAO, VeeamBackup and VeeamONE)

Hope that helps!
