Feature Request: GFS to support File Share backup jobs

Hi,
Can we have File Share backups be supported by GFS Tape Backup job types? I'd like to add these jobs to the VMware backups to tapes we already have on GFS, so its just one tape for us.

Thank you for your request. Currently there are existing requests for including GFS functionality for Unstructured Data Backups, but right now nothing further to share, so consider your vote counted. In the short term, you can protect Unstructured Data Backups with Backup to Tape jobs using Simple Media Pools. The path of Unstructured Data Backup to Disk > To Tape will not require double-licenses, and you'll be able to have your Unstructured Data Backup jobs going to tape, and can add such backups to existing Tape jobs which protect VM backups.
