How to enable malware scanning on agent?

Post by joloo »

Version = v12.2 Enterprise Plus

On Hyper-V backup jobs, there is a checkbox to enable malware scanning. However, on workstation/agent jobs, I do not see any such checkbox or option. Are agent/workstation backups scanned for malware? Where is the option to control that?

Hello joloo,

1. Inline scan is supported for all agent managed by B&R server but the job must be an image-level backup (entire computer or volume level backup mode).
2. Suspicious activity detection requires guest file indexing to be enabled so your agent must have a server license assigned in order to make it work. By default license is assigned based on operating system type, so I assume that machines in the question are not running Windows Server but you can change the license for specific agent in the license UI of the B&R Managing Instance Consumption by Veeam Agents.

Thank you!
