Feature request: Auto update license key for Veeam Agent

Hi there,

Trying to submit a feature request.
We have a situation when few Tenants are backing up to the Cloud Connect server directly using Veeam Agent.
They dont have local storage and dont have Veeam B&R installed
All works great, however license that I insert into the Agent is not auto-updating and I have to re-insert it every 30-60 days.
Would be great to have it work automatically with no human interaction, unless there is a valid reason why not

Hi Berkovska,

As far as I see you're already providing Veeam services to your clients, so if you want to update Veeam Agents keys remotely, then I would suggest taking a look at Veeam Availability Console. This product already does what you're asking for and it is free to all VCSPs.

You can find out more about functionality of this product in the dedicated VCSPs forum (I have just approved your access to these forums).

I figured thats a good way to have licenses auto-update, was hoping Veeam agent can be self sufficient in that regard.

Yes, I agree that this might be useful as well as centralized monitoring and configuration features of VAC.

License auto-update works with VSCP agent. But with the current/latest Veeam Agent for Win/Linux - does a standaolone agent have auto update or not?

No, it does not auto-update the license key. For that, you need to use VBR/VSPC.
