Interpretation of "Backups on Repository" report

Post by JLundgren »

Hello,

I have a question about how to interpret a report.
In this case:

"Backups on Repository"

Repository type: Microsoft Windows
Capacity: 127 TB
Free space: 73,07
Used Space: 53,93 TB
VM backups size: 24,56 TB

Computer backups size: 0 B
File backups size: 0 B
File backup cache size: 0 B
Application backups size: 0 B
Object storage backups size: 0 B
Object storage cache size: 0 B

What data is included in the above (in red) ?

Hello Johnny,

This field data calculation depends on a repository type and objects in backups. Does this repository is a part of SOBR? Are there only VM backups?
Something could went wrong with the data collection, synchronization, and deleted or orphaned objects. Do you have a support case opened? If not please open a support case and provide case ID in this thread so we can collect all the additional details and investigate it accordingly.

Thanks

Hi Roman,

do you think there is a problem ?

I just want to know how to interpret:

Used Space:
VM backups size

What is included in Used Space that is not included in VM backups size.

For sure, we are using SOBR.

I cannot find any detailed explanation of "Used Space" in Veeam documentation.

Hello Johnny,

There is no hidden meaning, just simple definitions:
Used space - space used by files, applications, ISO, etc.
VM backup files - files created by VM backup jobs

Often there is no problem. The support just can check precisely and prove the data if needed. For the Windows repositories as a part of a SOBR, I found no current bus or known issues. let's hope it is so.

Thanks
