veeam failed to mount nfs volume no permission fault

Post by mjm599 »

Hi all,

we have Veeam 12.2 installed that is backing up VMware virtual machines. The VMware VM Storage is on a NetApp A800 array. We have selected storage snapshots in veeam and then tried to instant VM recover a VM however it fails and details "veeam failed to mount nfs volume no permission fault". Any idea why this might be happening seems a privilege is required.

VMware error details, privilege check failed for user@vsphere.local. Missing permission Host.Config.Storage

Thank you.

Hi mjm599,

Can you confirm that you've set the Host > Configuration > Storage partition configuration permission for this account as mentioned on this page of the User Guide?

Instant Recovery uses our vPowerNFS feature which creates an NFS share from the repository to mount on the VMware environment, allowing the Instant Recovery to occur.

So please check this with your team and ensure the user account used for the vSphere access has this permission set.

If you're having difficulties after confirming the permissions, please open a Support Case and allow Veeam Support time to review. Please share the case number here if you open a case.

Thanks!
