Migrate to now server with config impossible?

Hi,

We are an SP and we have one big VBO with 20+ organizations and jobs in it. We need to move this to a new server but to our big surprise there's no supported method for migrating the VBO config. https://www.veeam.com/kb2649

We have more then 20 organizations and much more jobs, includes, excludes ext. On a v8 software version I would expect it to have proper migration methods. We are still on v7.1, isnt there any way to move/migrate it maintaining the config? Looks like the "C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup365" folder holds all kinds of DB's/configs.

No, configuration migration is not available yet. The KB you have shared is still valid.
Configuration backup/restore is still on our roadmap, but we don't have more information for now.
For now I suggest to use PowerShell to export and import configuration setting for various items.

Hi Fabian,

I took us 2 days to do this migration and do the necessary checks and tests. With a backup/restore feature this would be reduced to a few hours.

For a v8 version of a product its mandatory to have proper config backup/restore features. And server renaming, and custom log location...

The good news is that we have it on the roadmap. The bad news is that it will take us time to deliver.
