Data domain storage is unavailable in veeam backup and replication.

Post by rakib1288 »

Configured nearly 3 month back everything was working fine. Untill now, my backup repository which was configured using over ddboost over fibre channel is showing unavailable on my VBR. My VBR is on a physical server. I was working with another issue when this one came to my notice. Veeam support Case # 07339115. I have not created any case regarding this issue. When I try to rescan or edit the device with related user credentials it shows this error. Invalid user credentials. Host: [****************] User: [***********]....Please suggest what should be done about this. I know a support case with dell or veeam would be appropriate. could you please share your recommendations.

Hi Rakibul, welcome to the forums!

A Support Case is the way to go here, as we won't be able to troubleshoot over the forums. Unfortunately the error here is a bit too generic and the root cause could be quite a few things, so it's best to start with Veeam Support and let them see why it shows as unavailable in Veeam.

I advise please reproduce the issue (rescan the Data Domain in Veeam), note the date and time of the test, then export logs for Support to review. Please use the 3rd radio button "Export all logs for selected components", and select the Veeam server itself for log export. Note the name of the repository in the case description so Support knows which repository to focus on.

Please share the case number here once it's created. Thanks!

I also have the same kind of problem with my DataDomain since I updated to 12.1
I will create a support ticket for it also, Case 07383533.
Rescan fails because credentials are not valid, but the credentials are good. Changed them, but no fix. Also updates the OS of the DataDomain unit (DD6300) to v7.10.1.30, still nothing.

DD requires to change the password after 90 days if you don't disable it. So maybe your backup user is simply expire?

Problem resolved. I had NFS service disabled because we don't use it, looks like the DataDomain unit is using NFS afterall  , so enabled again and backup is running again on the DD6300.

Hi Guys please follow this KB from DELL if you are facing similar issue.

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-i ... ked-status

After following this KB, I rescaned the repository from Veeam and worked fine. Thanks everyone for your valuable input
