Hello,
2 weeks ago we upgraded to 12.2. We had a problem with size of database so at the same moment we moved from MSSQLExpress to PostgreSQL. This work was done by our servicecompany and people of veeam.
Every weekend we run some backups to tape, most of them are jobs for fileservers, we retrieve files by NDMP. The first weekend after upgrade was almost ok, only little notices.
Now 2nd weekend after upgrade showed some massive problems. I will add the loglines from UI:
Because of the size i used pastebin for the log: https://pastebin.com/2Drj5vSL
(UI Log stops after 1000 lines)
What i see in the logs:
- a typical log of former succesful backup has 33 lines
- The Job typically takes 13 hours, currently we count more then 2 days.
- multiple succesful locking of same tape without visible progress
- moving tape from one drive to another and back.
- so B&R is dawdling around without any other visible error or progress for hours.
- at all we have ~10 ndmp-jobs and half of them showed similiar behaviour
- according to the logs all 4 drives are affected, so it seems rather unlikely that we really have a physical problem
- the scalar i3 library shows no problems or other logs. i can try to restart the library, but currently the last job is still running.
So what we have here? I saw some changes in release notes to 12.2 but should i expect these problems?
Should i contact support?
Thanks,
Hans

Re: ndmp salience after Update to 12.2
Hello,
so i did open a ticket on our servicecompany. I await contact soon and they will contact Veeam if needed.
I hoped this ticket would arouse somebody who is involved in tape-backup development and sound the alarm.
Thanks,
Hans
