JetError -528, JET_errMissingLogFile, Current log file missing
Case # 07449918
Hello fellow forum members.
I want to ask for help. I received this error message from veeam and the emails are not being saved.
Sharepoint backup still works flawlessly. Unfortunately, I didn't really find a solution.
Has anyone encountered this before?
Thanks

Hello Peter
The error message you are seeing suggests that your database has become corrupted. Unfortunately, this is not something we can resolve through a forum topic.
Please continue working with our customer support team. They may have a procedure to restore the database to a clean state.
May I ask what kind of backup storage you are using for the backup repository?
Best,
Fabian

Thank you.
Do you use the QNAP as an iSCSI target for Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365?
Or as an SMB target?
Please note that such devices should be used as iSCSI targets with VB365. And you also need to make sure that the network connection is stable. Jet DB based repositories are live databases. Every network disruption could potentially to corruption of these databases.
Our recommended storage solution for Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is object storage, especially for Enterprise organizations and Service Provider. On Object Storage, we don't use live databases for the data. Using a proven Object Storage solution provides better stability, data compression and security (immutable backups) for your protected data.
Best,
Fabian

Hello Fabian,
yeah we use ISCSI
So is it better to use the repository in object storage mode than local disk?
Thanks

Generally speaking, object storage is better.
QNAP has QuObjects, but we cannot guarantee the performance. It depends mainly on your QNAP model and the disks used. If you want to use QuObjects as your object storage repository, you should consider using SSD/Flash disks instead of HDDs for better performance.
QNAP has tested some of their appliances with our products, and we have listed these QNAP appliances in our Veeam Ready Database.

Re: JetError -528, JET_errMissingLogFile, Current log file missing
We have a Qnap TS-419u+ NAS.
So far there have been no problems with it, this error problem has not arisen so far.
So, how should I convert the save? I moved the data to Local Storage, which is a LUN attached by ISCSI. Snapshot-based
What does it mean that I want to use object storage? Are you thinking of a cloud solution?
Thanks
