Hi All,
we are using Veeam 12 software in combination with Apollo Server, HPE storeonce and HPE Tape library. the veeam Backup software is installed on a VM, the Proxxy servers are also Virtual machines. The Apollo & Storeonce, Tape Server are connected to Network through 25G adapters. i have the following questions:
1. is the backup copy traffic from Apollo to Storeonce go through the proxxies, or goes directly to storeonce?
2. is the backup copy traffic from Storeonce to Tape Server go through the proxxies, or goes directly to Tape Server?
the reason im asking this , i want to know whether these traffics will congest our network?
best regards,
Hirosh.

Re: Backup copy from Storeonce to Tape library
Hi Hirosh,
Storeonce requires a Gateway server, so all interactions with the Storeonce will go through the gateway server. Be sure to check the sizing requirements for the Gateway server as it must be sized like a normal repository.
For your questions:
1. Apollo => Gateway => Storeonce
2. Storeonce => Gateway => Tape Server => Tape hardware connected to tape server
You can use the Tape Server as a Gateway assuming it is sized appropriately in order to reduce overall amount of traffic, but ensuring appropriate resources for the Gateway role is essential.
