Log collection has become extremely painful after upgrading to v8. Logging a new case now and trying to grab logs from the last couple of days, has been going for about 90 mins so far and sitting at about 60% progress.
We are using a proxy pool so it now takes about 10x longer to collect logs, we can't just collect the logs for a specific proxy or job anymore since all logs are spread over all proxy's, it also seems to duplicate all of the logs after collecting them from each individual proxy, and put them in a proxy pool folder too which creates massive log files. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not sure if there is a way I can re-configure my log config to improve this somehow.
We have 1 management server, 8 proxy's in a pool, extended logging and distributed tracing enabled. Looking for suggestions on how to improve collecting logs now as it makes opening a veeam case a 1-3 hour task now.

To update this, I can see why it's so slow to collect logs. It's been running for over 3 hours, initial collection is done and it's starting to create the zip file now. My C: drive started getting low-ish on space, the uncompressed log file folder is nearly 50GB. This is for just last 7 days of logs. I had a remote session with support scheduled, after about 3.5 hours we had to cancel it, appeared to be stuck and log collection eventually failed.

Hi Pat,
Distributed tracing is a heavy thing, and it can significantly impact the speed of collecting logs. Unless support engineers explicitly requested to provide traces, I'd suggest unchecking it.

Thanks that might explain it, I've been asked to use it a few times recently due to number of issues so I left it on, but I will turn it back off unless otherwise requested once again to re-enable.
