Netapp cluster scan: Unable to connect by NFS for share
Making a scan from Veeam for NetApp cluster1. Receiving an error
"Failed to obtain list of VMs on NFS share [...] of volume [...] Unable to connect by NFS for share: 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' "
The snapshots are current done today, yesterday. No ghost snapshots, nothing not real-time present.
I am not sure why and what reason, when backups itself running all good and with no issues. I can access files and see them on Netapp itself, and they are mirroring in Netapp between clusters.
No issue to scan same way cluster 2.
All settings for NFS Share in Netapp looks to be correct, was working before.
Edit ONTAP in Veeam Storage Infrastructure change nothing.

@KonradoMoreno has anything changed with the volumes exports? Is it just one volume having a problem or all? you might have to contact support
.
Please see NetApp KB about exports - https://kb.netapp.com/on-prem/ontap/da/ ... licy_issue

@ybarrap2003 "has anything changed with the volumes exports? Is it just one volume having a problem or all? you might have to contact support " - No, same way scanner on cluster 2 gives no such an error, no error at all.
Only on cluster 1. Export policy is working fine as all snapshots are finished with success and Veeam reports no errors during backup whatsoever.
Keep the right amount of backups on cluster 1 and cloning from cluster 1 right amount and on time to cluster 2 with no issues.
The URL you have provided, thank you, although this is not the error and issue. Checked and searched similar - found nothing related, cos or not working at all, or errors comes from Veeam during backup, not just simple manual scanning.

Re: Netapp cluster scan: Unable to connect by NFS for share
Hello,
Same issue for me. With error like:
- "Error: Unable to connect by NFS for share: 'xxxxx' "
- "Error: The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, see Windows Help.
nfs41_root_mount_addrs() failed. WinAPI error: The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, see Windows Help (code: 1231). NFS4.1 error.
Failed to open disk for read. Failed to upload disk '>' Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}."
I'm unable to read the Netapp KB.
I fix my issue by enabling NFS v3 on Netapp SVM. Windows hosts are unable to use NFS V4.
I hope it help.
Regards,
Eric

Re: Netapp cluster scan: Unable to connect by NFS for share
Hello @KonradoMoreno I am also having issues with that KB. What is the KB number "You do not have permission to view this page." I noticed sometime when you create a NAS backuo with CIFS which has both been exported to CIFS and NFS that you will get a permission error, if you do not have anything configured on the NFS share. I have recommend excluding the NFS share from the CIFS/SMB backup and it works fine. If this is the same error your experiencing please let me know
