CommonInfo StorageStatistics not being created

Post by edh »

Hi,

Case #07461228

This weekend checking the errors at S3 level, found that Veeam Server is requesting an object in this path for each company:

/[XXXX]/Veeam/Backup365/[XXXXX]/CommonInfo/StorageStatistics

Reviewing the online docs about this will be:
• [Blob file] StorageStatistics. Contains information on used space in archive object storage per organization.

Currently this object is not being created by Veeam, and its repeatly requested by the process overtime, i can see in the last week several thousand request to this object creating at S3 level a lot of 404 request. (NotFound)

Code: Select all

"GET /XXXXX/Veeam/Backup365/XXXXXXX/CommonInfo/StorageStatistics HTTP/1.1" 404 479 "-" "APN/1.0 Veeam/1.0 Microsoft365
Looks like a minor bug, or maybe this file is not needed anymore.

Anyone got this error too?

KR,
Manuel

Hi Manuel

The StorageStatistics file is up to date (on Azure Archive) in my lab.
May I ask, was the bucket already used before V8 or is it a completely new bucket for V8?
Is it a AWS S3 Glacier or standard Amazon S3 repository?

Hi Mildur,

Yes in your case is created because your access tier is a COOL one, but in our case , we dont use Cool storage or Azure storage, we use an S3 Compatible Storage and the object StorageStatistics is checked every X mins creating a 404 request in our proxys as object dont exist. I think is a "minor" bug that only affect in case of debugs. And the check happens in the "hot" storage not in the backup copy "cold" storage.
