Exchange AAP how it works?

Hi,

I asked around and searched, but I wasn't able to find the excact procedure how Exchange AAP works (just some general procedures).
I want to confirm if the data from Exchange VM during AAP backup is transferred directly to Veeam repo or it si dumped first locally on the (c:) disk as in case of SQL AAP?

In other words how much free space is needed on specific disks inside Exchange VM to be able to sucessfully do the AAP processing?

I assume you mean SQL Server Transaction Logs? For Microsoft Exchange, we don't provide a feature where we first dump Exchange databases or logs to the local disk.

For Exchange (same for MSSQL), we need the operating system to create a VSS snapshot to ensure your backup is application-consistent.
Disk space requirements for this VSS snapshot depend on how long the snapshot will be open (during the backup processing time) and how much data blocks on your Exchange machine are changed during the backup session.
