More often than not, we are deploying Veeam into a very locked down setup, with limited internet access. This is fine, and we just list what is needed to be opened to, by the customer.
But we are getting some issues with the Rocky Linux appliances, getting updates through the mirror lists.
As the documentation specifies: (mirrors.rockylinux.org, mirrors.fedoraproject.org, rockylinux.map.fastly.net). (and others)
The listed mirror URLs are used to get actual URLs that will be used to obtain updates.
And if there are only opened to the mirror sites, it will then fail...
I know this is not strictly a Veeam issue, but I do see more and more is available on https://repository.veeam.com/ and I guess that single point would make it easier to maintain access to ?Curl error (28): Timeout was reached for https://fastmirror.pp.ua/rockylinux/8.1 ... data/repom
d.xml [Connection timed out after 30000 milliseconds]
- Curl error (28): Timeout was reached for https://ftp.lysator.liu.se/pub/rocky/8. ... odata/repo
md.xml [Connection timed out after 30000 milliseconds]
What do other do ?
Simply ask the firewall guys to open to everything listed here: https://mirrors.rockylinux.org/mirrorma ... 9.4/x86_64 ?
Or what is the best way going forward ?
