VRO update new version

Post by harbinger »

Hi all

I wanted to start with the update process in the usual manner.
VRO-VONE-VEM-VBR
I've downloaded the new iso and when opening it on the VRO server with release version 7.1.0.230, it states that it's already installed.
According to the documentation the new release number is 7.1.0.278. Is this to be expected and can I upgrade the other products as usual?

Hi Philipp,
If you are already running VRO 7.1.0.230, then there is no need to upgrade VRO itself. The .278 build is released on the VDP ISO with the 12.2 versions of VBR & ONE, however if you are running the .230 build you already latest patches and updates for VRO.

You can of course use the new VDP ISO to upgrade ONE, VEM and VBR servers, in the usual way.

Hope that helps, thanks!

Hi Alec

That's OK with me. How do I upgrade the VBR and VONE Instance on the VRO server? Normally they're upgraded with the VRO setup and afaik it isn't recommended to upgrade them seperately.

Hi Alec

Would be nice if you can answer this topic, is it safe to upgrade the embedded VBR and VONE with the separate installers?

Hi @harbinger , apologies, seems I didn't get a notification for your question.
It's now fully supported to use the VDP ISO to upgrade ONE or VBR on the VRO server, just as you would upgrade any VBR. Just step through the upgrade wizards as usual.

Usually there will be a VRO upgrade on the ISO, and in those cases the VRO upgrade will be offered and it will upgrade all 3 components. For the recent VBR 12.2 release, there is no upgrade to VRO, so the setup wizard will offer to upgrade ONE and VBR separately; this scenario is fully supported,

Hope that helps!

In order to address the issues in KB4649, I've got to update the embedded products on our VRO server. I downloaded the iso from the latest versions page, which gives me the VDP 20241106 iso.
After the process, the embedded components have indeed been updated but I was expecting the VRO components to also be updated from 7.1.0.205 to 7.1.0.278 as they are below the 230 version that the release notes say are functionally equivalent to 278?

I found and applied the separate patch for the 230 version, and while programs and features now shows 7.1.0.230, the about screen in administration still shows 7.1.0.205

Hi @chrisr , the incorrect version shown in admin page is an issue which is fixed in the next version. If your programs and features version shows .230, then you have the correct patched version.
