This isn't exactly a major problem, but I'd love to know what the Veeam B&R console is doing in the background since v11/v12 that takes so long to exit the client application (10-20 seconds). As far as I know, the console runs as a client/server app and everything is processed on the server end, so why doesn't it exit immediately?
Cheers, Rob.

Re: Veeam B&R Console Slow to Shut Down
Hello Robert
I agree, 10-20 seconds does seem like a long time. There are background processes and connections between the console and backup server that need to be closed.
Could you please elaborate on how a quicker shutdown of the console would help you? Does the 10-20 second timespan block some other work tasks?
Best,
Fabian

Re: Veeam B&R Console Slow to Shut Down
Hi Fabian. The way I tend to use the console is to RDP to the B&R server through our PAM application, do what I need to in the console, then shut the console down and log off the server. I have to wait for the console to shut down before I can begin the logoff steps (I assume?).
As I said, it's not a show-stopper, but I feel I need to understand what's going on. As the console is running on the B&R server, I would expect it to be fairly immediate. The only remote element is the MS-SQL database running on a different server, although that's on the same high-speed LAN so shouldn't be a factor.
Cheers, Rob.
