Email notifications for restore jobs

Post by blueeyes »

I had opened a ticket with Veeam regarding email notifications for restore jobs.

As an ISO certified company, we need to document all back up and restore tests; whether automated or manual. We identified we were not receiving email notifications when our automated restores or manual restores were completing; successful or not. Our only option was going through the history and getting the details of the restore jobs. We have identified this as a risk for our ISO.

Veeam confirm this was not an option currently in the 12.X product. I believe the email option should be consistent between backup and restore jobs. As this would meet many certification standards, I would hope this option is implemented sooner than later.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Leo

How are you running your restore tests? Because we have Email notifications for SureBackup Jobs.

Our Veeam Recovery Orchestrator also enables you to configure and test restore plans. It provides a comprehensive report on your recovery testing, including metrics like the actual RTO and test results. You can present this report to your management board and ISO auditor.
As an ISO certified company, we need to document all back up and restore tests; whether automated or manual.
Another tool you can use to "track and audit restores" is Veeam One. Maybe you already have access to Veeam One with your license. Veeam One provides you with great reports such as "Restore Operator Activity" or in combination with SureBackup Jobs the reports "Recovery Verification Overview" or "Verified VMs". These can also help to be successful in your ISO Audits.

Best,
