SQL Level backup on a VM inside Hyper-V host.

Hello.

I am planning to configure SQL level backup on a SQL VM located on Hyper-V cluster.

Just like to ask if installation of agent is needed on each SQL VM for me to proceed with perforiming SQL level full/transaction backup?

Hello Mark,

Agent installation is not required at all because you can backup SQL logs with built-in application processing for Hyper-V VM backup. Take a look at this article: User Guide for Microsoft Hyper-V > Application-Aware Processing. Thank you!
