ESXi Environment - DR planning?

Post by stickymicky »

Hi all!

Firstly im new here so hello! ;-)

Secondly... im looking into a DR plan for my ESXi environment, I currently have 3 hosts with a HP SAN...

Im looking at using Veeam B&R Essentials but I need to know if I can do the one feature im not sure if it does...

Basically if my SAN was to totally to fail.. (I know they are built for DR with dual everything) but if it was to fail can I launch my VM's from the Veeam server over NFS as a temporary measure until I get the SAN back online???

Im looking to at least startup the DC's and possible mail?...

Or do I really need to look at another SAN? And therefore look at Veeam Site Recovery?

Any advice will be greatly received!...

Yes, absolutely. This is one of the most common usage examples of the Instant VM Recovery.

No, need to do that, see my explanation above.

Thanks!
