Oracle DB restore failing.

Post by rakib1288 »

Case # 07499590

We have taken RMAN backups. But when we tried to restore the DB it is failing.

--We are restoring on different server.
--Target server is correctly configured with RMAN plugin.
--Control file auto backup is turned on.
--Veeam engineer suggested some command output

'/u01/app/oracle/product/19.0.0/db_1/dbs/inithpdb_stbdc.ora---no such file or directory

I analyzed the output and found that /var/tmp is mounted with nosuid, nodev, noexec flags. Can you please mount /var/tmp without these flags and try a restore.

Customer tried with removing this flags and the restore still failed.

We tried restoring with two option available for restore.
--Restore with the original name and settings
--Restore with different name and settings
??? In both of the option is it mandatory have a DB instance created previously?

Now we are waiting for the next response from Veeam engineer.

It would be great if anyone of you can provide a necessary input. Thanks in advance.
