Veeam B&R v12.3.0.310 versus Unity versus TLSv1.2

What we have in place
Veeam B&R v12.3.0.310
Dell EMC Unity operating on OE 5.3 & OE 5.4

What is the actual question
We have a warning that TLS1.0/1.1 is still active and will be deprecated in the next release (5.4.1)
the alert is out to indicate this, to prepare yourself to actually move on to TLSv1.2

My question :
What version of the uemcli is built into Veeam B+R v12.3.310 ?
There is a minimal UEMCLI (CLI for Unity) version required to support TLSv1.2
DELL EMC pointed out that one would need AT LEAST uemcli v5.0.3 of them.
As the actual storage provider CLI is not installed but presumeably dlls in some way.
How can one retrieve/know the UEMCLI version integrated ?

Its rather obvious that after the update and forced move out to TLSv1.2 on the Array side on the next release, we need to know for sure
if Veeam B+R is not hampered by it.

Hi Stefan, thanks for the heads-up. This will not be an issue for the upcoming v13 as we're switching to REST there. However, for the current Veeam B&R versions, we're using a pretty old UEMCLI version (3.0.0.1). We made an attempt to switch to a newer one back in v11 (specifically for TLS reasons), however, customers encountered various issues with storage integration and it was decided to roll back.

If older TLS is indeed going away in 5.4.1, we need to consider possible workarounds. So far, I have not been able to find any confirmation of this. Can you maybe share the source of this information? We will also contact Dell for advice.

We verified and version 5.4.1.0.5.006 works fine. We've also received confirmation from Dell that this version still supports older TLS1.0/1.1; it is up to the customer to set the desired TLS version.
