Veeam Agent for Windows Standalone Preferred NIC

Post by daveintn »

I using a standalone Veeam Agent for Windows 6.3.0.177 Free Edition to backup my home server to my NAS (SMB Share).

I've installed a 10GB NIC on the server and connected it to a dedicated NIC on my NAS creating a back to back connection for backups only.

Both the server NIC and the NAS NIC use a different subnet and initially I updated the backup job to point to the dedicated IP of the NAS.

When that didn't work I put a hosts file entry for the NAS using the dedicated IP and updated the job to use the hostname, it's not the same name used by the 1GB network. It still appears to be using the 1GB network vs. the dedicated 10GB network.

Is there anyway to force the backup agent to use the preferred network?

Thanks,

Have you tried the lmhosts file? SMB tends to prefer that one to the hosts file when accessing file shares.
