FR (maybe bug): On Demand Sandboy w/o need for application group

I recently stumbled over the behaviour that the on demand sandbox running upon streaming (vPower) out of backed up VMs (the option box at the in the application group setting of the Surebackup job wizard) cannot be used WITHOUT an application group (which must have at least one backed up VM inside).

This is quite odd - why and if so what is this behaviour good for?
I believe to remember that this is not really working as designed (compared with staged restore where one also may not want/need an application group).

So not sure if that is simply ab bug or if not ment as a feature request to remove that need.

Let me try to answer this (not sure if I understood correctly).

If you want to start a lab and keep it running, you need to add all VMs to an application group and check the box for "keep the application group running" and keep the surebackup area empty in the wizard.

The surebackup area, runs the VMs and then shuts them down. The application group area boots the selected VMs first and keeps them running for the duration of the job or longer (when you enable the checkbox at the bottom).

Oh my Buddha, U are sooo damn right Andreas, of course (as it is written there in the wizard and placed into that secction of it) it is about the application group system/s.

Mea maxima culpa, I mix-/missmatched that with the staged restore where an application group is optional (depending on the needs of the to be altered VM to be run in staged mode).

No worries. It is not ideal wizard and was never touched really in the last 14 years. We will work a bit on it in upcoming versions to make it more simple to consume.

Create a replication job first before you can see it.

Sorry, forgot to add "for Hyper-V" (obviously today's not my best day) - there's no way in the console to make an HV application group and in the SureReplica Job you cannot choose a HV replica job.
