We have been trying to properly install the Linux agent on Oracle Linux Server ver. 7.9 running an Oracle ExACC instance.
The agent seems to have installed, but the backup would not run properly and the Veeam technical support stated that a "yum" repository is required for proper installation of the VAL and prerequisites (Case #07490427). The error we got was "Failed to load module [veeamsnap]".
I need to know if there is any other way to install the VAL and other prerequisites including kernel headers without having a "yum" repository running on the Linux server. If we are not able to get this working we will need to continue to use CommVault, which we are trying to migrate away from.
Here is the pre-requisite information that the Veeam techs asked for:
[root@xxxxxxxx ~]# (rpm -qa||dpkg-query -l) | egrep -i '(veeam|dkms|kernel-headers|kernel.*devel|linux-image|linux-headers)' | sort
kernel-headers-3.10.0-1160.119.1.0.3.el7.x86_64
kernel-ueknano-devel-4.14.35-2047.528.2.4.el7uek.x86_64
veeamdeployment-12.2.0.334-1.x86_64
VeeamPluginforOracleRMAN-12.2.0.334-1.x86_64
veeamtransport-12.2.0.334-1.x86_64
[root@xxxxxxxx ~]# dkms status
bash: dkms: command not found
[root@xxxxxxxx ~]# mokutil --sb-state
EFI variables are not supported on this system
[root@xxxxxxx ~]#
What are we missing or is there any way to manually install the needed packages so the VAL (and eventually the Oracle plug-in) will install and operate properly?

Re: Backup Oracle ExaCC / install of Linux agent
Hi John,
I am moving this topic to the dedicated forum about Veeam Agent for Linux, as it appears that the main issue is related to it.
Please continue working with your support engineer to identify the root cause of the issue. In the meantime, I recommend reviewing this checklist for VAL, and in this section you can find more information about the requirements for the Veeam Plug-in for Oracle RMAN.
Thanks!
