Vmware vsphere on 2 different VBR servers

Hi Stefan,

Yes, that works. Just ensure that a single VM is not backed up simultaneously by both backup servers, as this will lead to backup session errors.

I also wanted to share a couple of notes regarding licensing (Veeam License Policy). If you have a license and wish to use it on both backup servers, you must deploy Enterprise Manager to manage the license consumption for both servers.

Regarding Community Edition: Our license policy prohibits the use of multiple Community Edition deployments to protect the same source infrastructure. Additionally, it is not allowed to use one backup server with Community Edition and another with a paid license to protect the same source environment.

It's working again. both VBR's need to be completely identical.

So for anyone who might have a similar issue: make sure both hosts are the same version including all patches.

I assume you are sharing remote components such as proxies or repositories?
As long as each backup server has its own components, patch level between both backup server does not matter.
