Entra ID VUL counting and PostgreSQL sizing

Post by backmeup »

Hello!

We'd like to test Entra ID backup and have about ~50 spare VULs (we know that just a test will consume all of them :/ )
Can you give us an idea/answer for this example

10000 Users
2000 Groups
1500 Applications

- how many VUL's would we need
- what about the sizing of PostgreSQL if we'd keep i.e. 30 day retention (can't find anything in the documentation)

Hi Jan,

The license consumption for Entra ID is calculated at 1 VUL per 10 users.
For example:
- 10,000 users would require 1,000 VULs.

For larg tenants, we have special Entra ID license SKUs. I recommend contacting a Veeam sales representative in your region for a temporary trial license and to discuss the best licensing options.

Regarding daily backups for a tenant with 10,000 users and a retention period of 30 days, you can expect the database size to be around 4-10 GB based on our internal testing from last year.

Best,

Hi Fabian,

thank you for the clarification.
So the license usage is user-based regardless how many groups/application & Log-Backup or am i wrong?
